I disagree. While reading the Bible is important, when I was a new Christian I needed help in understanding what things meant.

Even now, I'm not going to presume I understand everything. The Bible is the major source of information for a Christian. But sometimes cannot answer the questions that a person looking for the truth might have.

So, I think that a person with questions should look towards the Bible, but also look for a pastor or an educated believer. It might make the explanation easier.
