I agree with you in a few areas. I agree that the
Morman religion is a sci-fi fantasy. I also believe
as you do, that if your life stinks, you should get
up and do something about it for yourself. However, I
do believe the Bible to be the true, inspired word of
God. That dosn't mean that I sit around waiting for
miracles to happen, or belive in the screwed up Morman
interpretation of the Bible. I simply believe that
Jesus has died for all my sins. Because he has done this,
out of love (not so that I will be saved by good works,
because everyone has sinned) I want to obey his commandments; for example
I don't want to lie, cheat, steal, murder, etc. and
I think we can both agree that this is a good thing.
Now I don't misinterpret the Bible like the Mormans
or Baptists in that I don't have stupid rules, such as
not drinking coffee, pop, or alcohol, or smoking. In the
Bible God doesn't say pop is bad. It's still important to
have a good time, and not sit back and wait for miracles,
but do things for yourself.
