The first job I ever had was at a Ponderosa restaurant in Vermont -- at least once a day, I would see the cooks drop food on the floor, scoop it up, and plop it right onto the plate... and those floors were disgusting. I never saw anyone spit in the food or anything, but I heard plenty of rumors.
