Tar Lie That Is Not A Lie

No one believes this but on hot days, when I was a kid in San Francisco during the 1930's, we used to tear up a chunk of the pavement tar from the street and chew it like gum. We had the best tar in the city, south of Market, and kids would come from all over to try to steal our tar. We would fight them like crazy.
