A Syracuse woman writes
in to Denise: I am interested in sociology and
your information has been a real eye opener. As I read about cultures where women stand
and men sit to urinate, I couldn't get over how well we are socialized.
I always thought sitting was a biological necessity for women. After drinking lots of
water and trying it in the bathtub a few times, I learned from practical experience it
isn't biological, but rather cultural for
women to pee sitting.
To think I've washed down about every toilet on the turnpike for my daughter (when she was
little) and myself. Aaaarrrrrrrgh! What a waste of time.
It's incredible what we accept as conventional wisdom!
